Chattanooga TOS has established a group a Telegram mobile app messaging group. The purpose is to help disseminate information about rare and notable birding sightings in the Greater Chattanooga-area.
If you are interested in receiving notices about rare and notable bird sightings in the Greater Chattanooga-area, please download the free mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Once you have the app installed and set up, you can navigate to this page on your phone and follow the link to the group. Alternatively, you can use your phone to capture QR Code (see below), which will also take you to the group.
Group members will have the ability to customize the way notices are delivered, and will be able leave the group at any time. Please note, this group is for the reporting of rare or notable birds only. When in doubt, ask a more experienced birder if your observation meets the required criteria before posting to the group.
Please be sure to include as much information about the location of the rare bird in your alert as possible. Please include an address and/or GPS coordinates where the bird is being seen.
Finally, in order to keep notices to a minimum, please do NOT respond to the group with a thank you, as it will go out to the entire group, and could be rather annoying if 50 people respond to every report.
